I am very, very happy to announce that I have signed a deal to release 'A Darker Sunset' on Big Chill's excellent record label. With artists such as Mr. Scruff and Tom Middleton on the roster I am in mighty company. Thank you to all of you who have waited so patiently! Release is set for June and as soon as I have an exact date I will post it here.

Summer round-up
Loads been happening. The Big Chill and Loop festival were fantastic with great crowds at each with lots of people emailing to say our set was their festival highlight. Outstanding! The addition of Simon Richmond from the Bays has created a musically intense new dimension to the set which has supercharged the development of the overall sound.

I am now beginning to compose a cd's worth of music for cutting edge cellist Matthew Barley who will record and tour the pieces next year. I've also been asked to write a piece for guitarist Tom Kerstens' ensemble G+. Our next show isn't until January 5th but it's a blinder. We will be playing in the Philharmonic Hall as part of the Fresh festival to help launch Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture. We will be on at about 10.30 immediately after Wayne Shorter's concert. On the 4th January I will be performing with the Bays alongside Chris Bowden and the Heritage orchestra. As the blurb says "The Bays will lay down an improvised Drum and Bass line inspiring the composers Bowden and Metcalfe to write parts, live, for The Heritage Orchestra. Using a network of laptops and touch screens conductor Jules Buckley will then direct the Orchestra to play this improvised new work. You can keep track of it all as it is broadcast live on a big screen". It should be amazing.

The Big Chill
We have been invited back to The Big Chill this year. Splendid! We are on the Sanctuary stage on Sunday 5th August at 4pm for an hour. Once again you will have to subject yourself to a stride up the hill but we hope to make it well worth your while with some juicy fresh material. Personally speaking the Sanctuary Stage has the best vibe of the festival so if you've not been up there.....

The weekend gigs will have much more of a club atmosphere. There will be two classic all dayers on Sunday April 1st at London's KOKO and on the 8th in Brighton at Audio. These two Sundays will come closest to evoking the spirit of the Bay's Bestival tent, including several floors of live and DJ based music running throughout the day.

Among the many live acts confirmed for these two special shows are Tom Middleton's live project AMBA, Max Richter, Jon Hopkins and Digitonal. DJs confirmed so far include Mixmaster Morris, Plaid, AJ, Nick Luscombe, Ben Eshmade and Big Chill founder Pete Lawrence. As the hosts and organisers the Bays will also be playing live, as well as providing turntable sets from their own deck maestros Jimpster and Palmskin.

Big Chill
The set at Big Chill went down a storm with rave comments on the Big Chill site and some people naming it as their event of the weekend. We played the Sanctuary Stage on a lovely Saturday afternoon and the crowd were awesome. Many many thanks to those of you who trekked up the hill to make it such a tasty event.
